Gretchen practices a unique and progressive approach to horsemanship, built on deep knowledge learned from extensive experience and formal education combined. She spent almost a decade showing as a professional on the most competitive Hunter Jumper circuits in the U.S., riding in clinics and working on a personal level with several winning Olympic Showjumping riders and international young horse trainers. She worked as a professional rider and trainer on both coasts of the U.S. and also in Ireland, learning and experimenting with countless training methods, focusing especially on young horses.
More recently, Gretchen has become a Certified Practitioner in The Masterson Method® form of equine bodywork, and a student of Spencer LaFlure’s school for Natural Balance Dentistry™. She works with horses of all breeds, disciplines, ages, and histories, and believes in prioritizing top notch communication and striving to achieve optimal well-being with each horse, often melting away “behavioral” issues in the process. Her mission in Southern Vermont and New England involves educating owners honestly and transparently and helping people gain access to a depth of understanding and advanced, progressive services for their equine endeavors.
